The Rev. David Petrash - Deacon
Since my mother grew up in Denison on West Bond Street, the ministry at St. Luke’s has been a lot like coming home. Growing up in Baytown, Texas, I moved to this area in 1971 after graduating from the University of North Texas and becoming a music instructor at Grayson County College. Over time I moved into administration and was the Associate Vice President for Admissions and Records. In early 2006, I retired from Grayson County College and became Chaplain at Home Hospice of Grayson, Cooke, and Fannin Counties.
My wife, Laura, is a full time volunteer for church, scouts, and school. A former junior warden, she has served on the St. Stephen’s Altar Guild for twenty-one years. We have four children. Wendy and Heather are married and living in Snyder, Texas and San Diego, California, respectively. Don is at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and Henry attends Northwestern University.
Discerning a call to the diaconate, I graduated from the Anglican School of Theology and was ordained on June 5, 2004. I have a great passion for the church’s ministry to the poor, aged, and infirm – for those people that the world might otherwise forget.

Junior Choir directed by her mother to her membership in the St. Francis

talent. In 1997, she was asked to be the Choir Director at St. Luke's, and
this ministry has become part of her life. She holds a B.A. from Austin
